Hello Cousins... I'm looking for information on the WEESE's who were in Clinton and Gentry Counties in MO starting about 1840 or so. In 1840, there are 5 WEESE families... Landen, who was between 40 and 50; William Sr., who was between 50 and 60; George Sr., who was between 40 and 50; William, who was between 20 and 30; and George, who was between 20 and 30. Presumably, William Jr was the son of William Sr, and George Jr was the son of George Sr (I know this in not 100% sure, but it's a starting point). The questions I have are these: 1. Were Landen, George Sr. and William Sr. brothers? 2. Since I find George Sr. and William Sr. both in Gentry County in 1850 (Gentry formed from Clinton in 1841) but no sign of Landen anywhere, did Landen die in the 1840-1850 period? 3. If he did, does anyone know who his descendants are, where he is buried etc? Any help appreciated. I believe the family came to Missouri from Virginia via Tennessee during the 1830-1840 period. There are no WEESE's with these first names in 1830 in MO or TN, but many of the children born in that time period show place of birth as TN in the 1850 census. Both George Sr and William Sr give POB to be VA in 1850, ergo they left VA around 1830 and arrived in MO by 1840, via TN. Thanks in advance. Kelly Nix Norman, OK
