I'm at a dead end on this family. I need information on Matthew WISE born 23 Nov, 1849, possibly in PA, died 30 Sept. 1881, supposedly in Nodaway County, MO. My grandmothers Bible states her mother, Louetta Christine WISE, was born 23 Nov. 1881 in Hopkins, Nodaway County, MO. There is no Matthew WISE I can find in the census records for that area. I was told he had a brother, Jesse. I did find a Jessie WISE in the 1880 MO census, age 45 from Ind. My grandmother also had two obituaries in her Bible, One for a David Earl WISE and the other for Franklin Elbert WISE. Neither had Years on them, but were from Hardy AR. area. Other members of the family mentioned in the obits are: [Brother and sisters] Alfred, Lula FRAILEY, Rosie ANDERSON all of Hardy. Franklin's obit lists Earl as living in Tulsa OK, and children as Mrs. Bessie Mae SAMPLE, of Hardy, and Mrs. Faye BRINKLEY of Los Angeles CA. Says there are four grandchildren and great-grandchildren [unnamed]. I think they may have been brothers of Louetta [?]. One family tradition says they were PA Dutch [Deutsche] and another Jewish. ??????
