Hello Suann, Another cousin, Frank Wise, and I are searching for any information about the ancestors of our mutual great grandfather, Sylvester J. Wise. There is very little information about him, but here is what I have. He was born in 1850 in Indiana (place of birth is from my grandmother's death certificate). He married Harriet "Hattie" J. Lasley in Neosho Co, KS on 10 Nov 1881 (source is their marriage license. At that time his residence is listed as "Labette Co, Kansas" and his age was 31. She was 28 and listed as a resident of Neosho Co, Kansas. They had 4 children: Inez Blanche Wise b. 20 Aug 1882 Francis Lee Wise b. 01 Jun 1884 Florence Jessie Wise b. 08 Mar 1887 George W. Wise b. 1889 Sylvester died in 1924 and is buried in Union Cemetery, Cherokee Township, Montgomery Co, KS. Hattie is buried there also. We have tried all sorts of things and can find nothing to tie Sylvester to any parents. The Lasley family is documented back at least 3 generations beyond Hattie and looking where her people were has yet to produce any results on Sylvester.
