Philad 4 In the album are drawn name cards where people wrote their names inside: E.L. WELLS; C.L. HAWKEL (?); H.N. (can't make out the last part); W.D. MATTHEWS; W.G. CROFT; W.N. HAWKS (or HANKS). There is a poem to "Lizzie" by Ruth J.(?) PEABODY/ Columbus, June 11th, 1858: Hast seen the sun, at early morn,/ In majesty arise;/Seen him his trackless course pursue/On through the cloudless skies;/And his last soft, effulgent rays/Steal gently from thy fixed gaze? This may thy life, sweet Lizzie, be/A cloudless summer day,/ May happiness , and peace, and love,/ Attend thee on thy way;/ Gently as steal the shades of even,/ Thy spirit win its way to heaven. Another entry in the album reads: To Miss Lizzie "Theres not an hour of day, or dreaming night but I am with thee Theres not a breeze but whispers of thy name and not a flower beneath the sun but in its fragrance tells a tale -of thee" C.
