Hello everyone, Just subscribed today. I am trying to find information on an ancestor named Henry Vice. I know that he is from Germany, where in Germany, I do not know. I found him in the Glengarry Co., Ontario, Canada 1871 Census. He was listed as being 56 years old, so that would have put him born abt 1815. Stories from the family say, that he was in the German war and ran away to Canada. So this could put him in Canada as early as 1833. I know that he married Angeline Murrey ( I have no other info on her except that she was born in Canada) and had 2 sons, George b. march 15, 1850 in Canada and the other son was Henry. It is said that he hid out in a cabin in the woods where he changed his name from Wise to Vice so that he couldnt be found. Is anyone able to help me in any way. It would be greatly appreciated.
