I'm a WEISS/WISE descendant, my line having stayed in Bucks Co. until the late 19th C. The WEISS/WEISZ/WISE family of Butler Co. (Zelienople) moved there from the Bucks/Montgomery Co. area and are covered in varying detail in the following book: Ziegler, Gertrude Mohlin, ««I»The Ziegler Family and Related Families in Pennsylvania» (Zelienople, Pennsylvania: Charles Campbell Printing Company, 1978). I located the book at the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society last May, while in the area attending the NGS conference. I made copies of portions of it. I believe I tried to copy all portions pertaining to the descendants of Killian WEISS (15 Dec 1751-16 Feb 1840) and Catherine Zeigler LANDIS (4 Sep 1764-10 Jul 1859). [My dad's first cousin had shared several photocopies of pages from this book with another cousin (over 15 years ago) and had never furnished the bibiliographic information for it. The cousin subsequently died. So my goal at NGS was to identify the book and locate a complete copy. It was a successful conference! <s>] I'm still looking for the WEISS/WEISZ ancestors of Killian, whose father is said to be a George WEISS, Jr. If anyone on this list can help, I'd be very grateful!
