There is a Patton Wise for sure in Jasper County at that time; I believe that there is a Patterson Wise in the area too. Patton I'm sure about. I've never come across a Pattron Wise, which must be a slip of the hand on a handwritten page or a typo if this is a copy. Patton Wise is one of the three sons of Joseph Wise, who settled in Jasper County early in the 1800s. Patton Wise, in at least one case, put an "esq" at the end of his name, and served on the inferior court of Jasper County. The Wises in Jasper and Butts Counties came from southern Virginia via the Carolinas. Joseph apparently served under Elijah Clark during the revolution for which he received land in Georgia. Does that help any? Am I unnecessarily amiss? Fred At 15:16 10/9/98, gbonner wrote: >In a reference to Ordinary Court Minutes, I found a reference to the will >of Pattron WISE.
