Hello: My great grandfather was John W. Wise, born June 29, 1825. He married Emily Tullos, b. Dec. 25, 1838. Their children were: William F. b. 1852 Nancy A. b. 1854 Mary M. b. 1856 Permelia E,b. 1866 M. b. 1867 Cintha J. b. 1869 Sarah E. b. 1871 Winslow B. b. 1878 John W. Wise was the minister for a small Baptist church in Jackson Parish, LA, and is buried in its cemetery. According to census records John came from Miss. However son William was born in Ark. I don't know who John's father was. A lady who is researching him also said James B. Wise and Nancy A. Sexton may be his parents. She also had some info that John had been married before, possibly to a Scarborough. We don't know the marriage date. The courthouse in Jackson Parish was burned so if he married either one in this parish there is no record.
