I believe that the George Wise who married Sophia Hammett in Nov. 1813 was the son of Adam Wise (b. 1745, St. Mary's Co., MD; d 1816, SMC) and his wife Frances. There appear to be several different George Wise's in this generation and untangling them may prove difficult.
