Census: 1830 (Claiborne Parish, LA) Joseph WISE: male 20-25, 2 males<5, 1 female<5, 1 female 15-20. Our Joseph Ford Wise would have been 17, his wife, Harriet Carolina, only 10 based on their ages 50 years later in 1880. Plus they weren't married yet. Census: 1840, Claiborne Parish, LA, Joseph WISE: 1 m under 5; 1 m 40-50; 1 f under 5; 1 f 15-20; no slaves. (Although Lambright book would say this is Joseph Ford and Carolina, the man is still too old.) These do not appear to be the same person and neither can be Joseph Ford WISE m. Harriet Carolina LAMBRIGHT. Does anyone have their notes on these census entries? Did I enter them correctly? If they are correct and neither of them are J. F. and Carolina WISE, has anyone found them on the 1840 census? Maybe still in Copiah Co., Mississippi where they married in 1838? Dot Wise Wirth dotwirth@aol.com
