David - Can you give me some dates to work with - especially those for David S. Wise and John? Also, "upstate" -- which state? I think it's wonderful that you're doing this! I also have a family line which includes WISE and SPEARS and there are also RICHARDSONS in the area of north Louisiana (Claiborne Parish - USA) where this bunch settled. We have not been able to positively identify the father of our James WISE m. Parmelia MILLER who came from Mississippi to Claiborne Parish abt 1830. They probably married in SC since that's where she was from. But I have lots of information from 1830 on and some on other ancestors in our line including LAMBRIGHT(LAMBRECHT).
