Author: CCCLAN_academy Surnames: Wise Browning Cuthbertson Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.wise/792.822.854.861/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have the same Benjamin Wise in my family line it goes like this Me my mother Parley Browning John Nelson Browning md Julia Marie Lee Adolphus Browning md Margaret Wise William Cuthbertson Wise md Catherine Chandler Benjamin Wise Md Sarah Cuthbertson I am looking for more information on the Wise family specifically Benjamin's father I found the following information in the 1790 North Carolina Census. -- what I know-- Benjamin Wise was raised by William Cuthbertson- he was born abt 1772 he is listed in the NC 1790 census as a child and as a seperate family 3 other Wise families listed Cuthbertson family listed on same census as was John Browning Researched 1790 census Mecklenberg co. nc- Found William Wise 1 _ 1 John Wise 1_ _ 4 Benjamin Wise _ _ _ 1 ( This is probably the correct Benjamin) Thomas Wise 2 2 5 Also found the following for Cuthbertson in same census (These are the only Cuthbertsons in North Carolina John Cuthbertson 1 1 3 David Cuthbertson 1 1 2 Also found the following for Browning in NC- Burke Co John Browning 3 4 5 _ I know that the Brownings Wises and Cuthbertsons are neighbors and have married eachother What i would like to find out is why Benjamin Wise is left with the cuthbertson family and when and why the Cuthbertson family moved from Pennsylvania to NC.
