When Nellie married Vivian James WISE 11 March 1922 Morgan Co, OH, her name is recorded in the marriage record as Nelly Mae BEST, father Reverdy BEST & mother Lulu DANIEL. And the burial record for Nellie May in Malta Union Cemetery, Malta Twp, Morgan Co, OH show WISE, Nellie May BEST wife of N.J.[sic] WISE 1899-1934. On Nellie's d. cert (viewed on the website you directed me to) her father is named as J.R. BEST, mother, Lulu DANIEL. J.R. BEST of Malta, OH is the informant for the info on Nellie's d. cert. Now I have to find out if J.R. BEST actually adopted Nellie May NEWBERRY...she would have been age 9y when her mother married BEST. Or, maybe she assumed her stepfather's surname when her mother remarried. Ahh, the challenge of the search.... Nellie May and Vivian James WISE were parents of 4 children: Robert L.
