    3. Daniel Wise came to Louisiana apparently in the mid 1800's - 1850-1860's. He married Martha A(nn) Wilder 23 Sept 1860 in Parish of Bienville. Witnesses: J.J. Sprawls, Moses Hurly, Isaac Allden, Jr. Daniel served 27th Louisiana Infantry, CSA; was discharged/pardoned at Vicksburg, MS 7th July 1863. Daniel died 6 December 1865. I have never located Daniel Wise on a Louisiana Census. His wife Martha Ann, b 31 Dec 1843; d 6 March 1866. They left behind twins, Alexandra G. and Jessie Lee b. Nov 2 1864; Alexandra d 8 Nov 1864 and Jessie Lee d 16 Nov 1864. A son, Isaac E(dmond) b. 23 July 1862; died 3 May 1932. Isaac (Ike), was my grandfather who md. (1) Maud E. Cook (2) Emma S. Hunt Melton. Daniel Wise is on a list of "The Old Home Guard" which was commanded by Duke D.H.Hays, of Arcadia, Louisiana, now of Red River Parish. One family source said Daniel Wise's birthplace was New York, but this inf. was given by the wife of Daniel's son, Isaac on Isaac's death certificate. Another source says he was born in PA. Martha Ann Wilder was daughter of Edmond W. Wilder and Elizabeth Linder. I hope Daniel's date of birth will help with someones missing Daniel Wise. Doris Newcomb McMurchy [email protected]
