My wises come from Samuel Wise born 1840 in Pan (possibly son of Samuel wise born 1817 in PA and wife Sarah Ann unk). Samuel got married in MO to Eliza Ann HARTZLER. Children were Ida Virginia Wise, William Henry, John Charles "Charlie", Arthur and Earl. They were born in MO or Iowa. Samuel and Eliza Ann died in Hillside or Hillsdale cemetery in OK. Did they move with one of the children there? Ida Virginia Wise married Charles William HOLMES in Scotland Co, MO in 1894. Children Leona, Mary Mae, and Maurice were born in MO, but then the family moved to Louisiana (paternal Aunt lived there) and Cleo and Lula Vista HOLMES were born in Jennings LA. The family moved to Enid Oklahoma in 1905 and then Texas for awhile and the kids attended school with one of Ida's brothers' kids. Then the HOLMES moved to Los Angeles where Ida Virginia WISE and Charles William Holmes died. They had followed their younger son Cleo Holmes to Los Angeles. I know I've talked to somebody about the Wise brothers to Ida Virginia, but can't remember where or when. Since some of the geography looked similar to recent postings I thought I'd post. Anybody recognize these families? I'd love to know more about Samuel's ancestory. Trudy in CO
