No, I'm looking for origins of Jacob Wise, born 1802 to 1806 in Switzerland, married Joanna Susanna, different versions of her name, born 30 Apr 1809 in Germany; they married before 1835 and had all children allegedly born in the U.S. They lived in Highspire, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, by 1850. When old they lived with their children. They may have been Evangelical Christians. They had just one son, Jason, b 1848/1849, who dematerialized before he could have grown up. I know what happened to only two of the daughters; Sarah Elizabeth, b 1835, and Mary Ann, b 29 Sep 1843. Mary Ann married John Dehart and they lived in Highspire adn Steelton. Sarah Elizabeth married John Conklin and they had five sons born between 1866 and 1878; probably descendants survive but I have not located any. Jacob Weiss was a weaver; he wove rugs or carpets on a loom at the Highspire railway station while selling tickets there. But the Highspire railroad station does not survive and while stories must ahve been told of him at the time, I can find no report of this outside my own family. I've no knowledge of whether he brought any siblings or other family from Switzerland/ Germany, whichever place he lived before he came to America. (I do believe Switzerland is landlocked so he cannot possibly have sailed from there.) There are many ways two people from Switzerland and Germany could have met and married in that region, especially if they were Evangelical Christians. Have photos of Mary Weiss as an adult; she was very dark skinned. Some of her children looked Mediterranean.
