    3. I want this list to be a fun place to share and help others. Otherwise why else are we all here. With that in mind I may post some of the "behind-the-scenes" stuff from time to time. Also some, I hate the word rules, guidelines for posting. Some might be a little "harder-and-firmer" [ HAF ] than others. I would MUCH rather use a wet noodle than a paddle. Usually a word to the wise is sufficient. [ no pun intended ] HAF If for any reason you wish to contact me with some issue off list please feel free. I can be reached at either [email protected] or [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> . If you have an issue with another list member contact me off list about it. It _DOES_NOT_ belong on the list. I hope and pray there will be none of that but one never knows. I've been getting some approval requests for some of the larger e-mails to the list. I upped the maximum file size to 10 meg from 40 K. I don't know if that's a Rootsweb default or a setting of the previous admim. Anyway, now larger files can be sent. Y'all are doing great. I know I've said this before but I'll go ahead and say it again. When posting put all the surnames in "ALL CAPS" please. It makes it much easier for the reader to scan through a long e-mail and spot surnames of interest. Not to many are reading the list in "Digest Mode" but........ When replying to something in digest please cut out all the non-relevant portions of the digest and change the subject to the subject of the e-mail your replying to. I know this is a pain in the neck but it helps those that might not be following that particular thread [ series of e-mails about a common subject ] to immediately know what your replying to. If your not sure how to do it I, or even someone else on the list, will be happy to help you. I can either help off list or on. Questions about the genealogy software your using is also an "allowed" post to the list [ it can be considered WISE related because your keeping your WISE information in it ]. Sometimes a question comes to mind about which is better or how to do something in a particular software. With, the now, 154 members surely someone can help figure it out. "Health-and Welfare" posts are also allowed. We all are WISE descendants aren't we and as such family [ of sorts ]. It's great to know that we all woke up breathing this morning. [ everything after that is gravy ] New buds on the family tree [ baby announcements ] also. If you wish to post something that may not be particularly WISE related, as long as things don't to far afield, put "OT" [ without the quotes of course ] in front of your subject. This tells everyone that the post is "Off Topic" and if they aren't interested in off topic posts they can skip over it. Hopefully no one will but they have the option. HAF If your posting records or information please post only your own research. Many people don't particularly care if you post their research but many others do. Some more vehemently than others. I would just as soon avoid a confrontation if/when/where possible. You can post a brief and a link to the research [ IMHO ] just don't paste in their whole page of research. While I may be the list admin/owner this list is _YOURS_. It will only be what you make of it. Lets work together to make it a great list. -- Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans.
