I too have been looking for more definitive information on the possible relationship between John (1617-1695) and Richard (came to St. Mary's, MD about 1685) Wise. If this Richard is mentioned in the John Cropper Wise book, can you give a page number reference? There was also a comment suggesting the 'nephew' relationship in book about another family written by a Matthew Wise. But when I spoke with him, he said he no longer thinks it is true. - Laurie Wise
