The enumerator misspelled their name, of course, but she was living with her granparents, Van and Kizziah Wilkes from Chester, SC. They had moved to Spartanburg before 1910. They were born abt. 1850 and 1854. Do you know of any Wilkes from Chester, SC? they are connected to the Wise Family. Also, i came across a 1900 census and I believe this is my great-great grandmother. the parents were white, but her and the siblings were Black. The last name was Loute from Chester. does that ring a bell to you?
