I have my Wise going back to the birth of George b. abt 1815. I have no idea who his parents or where in Ohio Message Board Post: My Wise family lived in Muskingum and Licking Counties, OH from around 1830 forward. They came from Washington County, PA. Mine go back to Weiss in PA, but it was changed to Wise with Adam Wise. My ancestors lived in Hopewell right between Licking and Muskingum. The original farm had to be abandoned due to the dam at Dillon. I have found all of the graves of my ancestors in OH, but not that of Jacob Wise, b. abt. 1768 in PA. All of the land in OH was deeded to Jacob, but I don't know if he actually ever moved to OH. At least three of his sons moved to farms in Muskingum or Licking.
