I guess Ancestory isn't notifying me of messages anymore. I don't have anymore info on this family from my 2002 query, pretty sad. Anyway that you could assist would be appreciated. I was going to take another shot at finding Harriet (Wise) Finch's burial, funeral record, etc. That info would give me some leads as to her parents. My grandfather Shelley's father was Jesse Owen Wise (1853-1923); J. O's father was Jesse W. Wise (1834-1884); and Jesse W. Wise's father was Jesse Wise (1787-1868). This last Jesse Wise left South Carolina at about the same time that another Wise, James, left the same area; they each stopped along their route in Mississippi; and then they settled near each other in old Claiborne Parish, Louisiana. Some of the descendants of these two Wise's have recently had male relatives submit their DNA. The tests aren't completed yet, but initial results show a close familial relationship between descendants of the South Carolina Wise men. By the way, my mother was named Jessie Wise. I don't know if there is a relationship between our Jesse Wise's, but ours are centered in Louisiana. Hello, I located WILLIAM G. WISE 1859 - 1926 buried at The Scenery Hill Cemetery in Scenery Hill, PA. Just 5 miles from Washington Pa., on Route 40 Where my parents are also buried & my Grandfather. The headstone of WILLIAM G. WISE & 3 other Wise names on it, is a most beautiful, huge & impressive headstone of gray & rose granite. I have a picture of it. Hi Geni Friend, Did the husband JAMES of SUSANNAH die, that all the WISE children are living with the HALL'S? (Found my own question............ answered, ..........but do not have a death date for JAMES.) Evidently he died some time between the census of 1860 & 1870. And she is now married to WILLIAM HALL, noting that they have a daughter: FRANCES HALL, just 8 months old. I have the father of my: JACOB H. WISE as JAMES WISE (Census 1860) b. 1827-1829 & marrried to: SUSANA ?, b. 1832 in PA. And I see that she is 39 which would make her born in abt. 1831/1832 Looking into more info. I see that she did marry #2, a man by the name of HALL, but did not have a first name for him. Thank you in gratitude for giving me HALL'S first name..................and also all JACOB'S brother's & sister's. CARPE DIEM, Lori In a message dated 10/27/2008 10:50:14 A.M.
