GGGrandfather, George Adam Weis immigrated from Wurms, Hesse-Darmstadt in l850s with family, specifically, brothers. He appears in Ft.Wayne, In and then settles in Huntington, IN. Tiffany, I may have a connection for you. I have a Raymond WISE born to William H. WISE and Mary ESSIG, no dates or places are given, but William's parents are Alexander WISE and Phoebe WISE (cousins). William was b 10 Jul 1859 and Mary was born Aug 15, 1857 no place of birth or deaths are given. but Raymond is shown as the third child so the time frame may be right for this to be your Raymond. His siblings are Ruth E. Wise and Harry Alexander Wise. I you can place Raymond with these people it is your Raymond and your Wise research is done back into Germany in the 1600's. Ruth

Hello list members, I have been away for awhile and have just set up with new E-Mail so thought it best I repost my WISE family interests. My Grandfather emigrated to Canada from Kent. I have many WISE ancestors in Faversham Parish, Kent England. My "little brick wall" concerns the fact that I cannot find my G-Grandfather, Thomas Wise, born about 1860, in Faversham Parish records. According to census records, this is his birth place. I have tentatively attached descendants to him on the family tree which seem to fit but I hate to ASSUME I have the right people! Anyone researching in Kent can give me some suggestions??? Maybe if I knew the names of neighbouring parishes, that would be a place to start. I look forward to hearing from English Wise researchers. Michelle, I have no reference to an Eliza Wise in the Adam Wise Genealogy book. It is based on the descendants of Adam Wise whom immigrated in 1748 from Germany (as Johann Adam Wiese), his descendants spread from PA to the midwest mainly and then on from there, two sons went to KY and their descents are from those areas originally. I have not seen any in the GA area. Look in the archived messages on rootsweb, and you will find some articles from my newsletter on a GA line of Wise's. Sorry I could not help. Hiya listers: I'm back again to inquire if anyone can connect with me regarding my Weis to White ggfather, George Weis/White. Apparently the Weis family came over from Germany to New York in the late 1800's and only George, the youngest, changed his to White when he was a grown man. His sibling Weis were Rudolph, Otto, Alice and Adeline. Their father was from Germany and mother from Alsae Lorraine, France. I do not have their names. George Weis/White married Alice Pierce abt 1925 in New York. They had 2 children who are alive today. Any help would be appreciated.
