Would the library in Baraboo have this on microfilm or is it > elsewhere? Jeannette, The Sauk City Pionier Presse, published in German, covered the late 1800s and early 1900s. It is now called the Sauk Prairie Star. It is available on microfilm at the State Historical Society in Madison and the Sauk City library. It may also be at the Prairie du Sac library. I've gone through the paper in depth from 1902-1910. They always had a "social" column for Prairie du Sac and Honey Creek that included obituaries. The obituaries I found in that time period were extremely helpful and interesting. I also looked for an obituary in 1879, but they didn't seem to have them then. So I'm not sure when they would have started publishing obits. Hope this helps, Kathy Lenerz
