Hello, In the 1850s, there seems to have been in influx of people from Erie Co, PA, to Sauk Co, WI. While I have no idea why, I do know that various members if the FRANCIS family went there. Some stayed, some came back and some went back again. My gggrandmother, Hannah Francis Coburn, was b. 15 Apr 1856, Baraboo(according to the spelling on her 2nd marr. cert), Sauk, WI. Ransom Francis and the parents of Charles Cole also went there. If anyone has any information on any of these families, I should appreciate knowing and am willing to share what I have. I am especially interested in the COLE family as Hannah's mother, Henrietta, was a Cole and married to Luther Francis. I have no information whatsoever on her Cole line. But a copy of a letter I received of Almira Lawrence Francis' correspondence states the Luther Francis and Charles Cole's parents went to WI together.
