    1. [WISAUK-L] Duren/Keller/Ruskauff/Hansen
    2. My mother's kin came from the area of Cazenovia/Westford Township. They came @ 1857. The first Duren was William/Wilhem Duren/Dueren, he was Born in Anstel, Germany, 12-9-1819. His parents were Johann and Walburgis (Deutzman) Duren. William/Wilhelm Duren mar. Anna Sybilla Katherine Hansen, 2-17-1844, in Rommerskirchen, Germany. Anna Hansen was born, 11-6-1822, in Sinsteden, Germany. Her parent's were Peter Joseph and Metilda (Ruttgers) Hansen. A Lambert Hansen was also an early settler in the Cazenovia area. Would that Lambert have been a brother of Anna's? Did she have any other siblings? I am wondering what happened to him and if he had a family in the Caz area? Also, did Wilhelm Duren have any other siblings that may have also settled in the Caz area? Or if they came and settled in any other area, whether in Wisconsin or any other place in the U.S.? I would like to know if any of the other Durens in the U.S. can be traced back to the same Duren origins? There is a Place called Duren/Dueren Germany. I'm wondering if the family has any connections to that city? I know William/Wilhem had a son named Rev. Stephen Duren who was a Catholis priest, and a nephew whose name was Rev. Hubert Duren who also was a priest. Rev, Stephen was a world traveler who supposedly had traced the Duren family origins back several generations. Does any one know what became of his findings? Were they placed in a depository? Would there be an Archive close to the area that might house the information? I would love to find a copy of the information. My Grandpa was William F. Duren and his Grandpa was William/Wilhelm Duren. As many German customs name children and Grandchildren after the paternal male, Does anyone know if there are any Duren kin still carrying the given name of William, alive? A Son of William's was a Joseph Duren whose family lived closer to the Reedsburg area. I remember my mother corresponding with a Aunt Sophia who had great stories. I would like to verify if any of these stories are bonifided. Especially the ones about the Duren's coming from the Isle of Aaron in the Sea of Galway, by Ireland??? Anybody give me some clues? Thanks for listening. Anxious to hear from anyone. Marlene Andrews Shelley P.S. I would love to find out why the family came to Wisconsin? I've been working on this tree for lots of years. I'm glad to see there is finally a Richland co. list with which to connect. Are there any on-line research facilities available in the area?
