My grandmother, Bessie Mae Smith b. 5 Aug 1888 Baraboo or Merrimac, Sauk, WI d. 24 May 1971 Madison, WI m. 21 Jun 1911, Merrimac, WI John Alexander Gale b. 1887 Kendall, Monroe, WI d. 16 Apr 1923 IL. Bessie Mae was a school teacher and family tradition states that she taught at an Indian School in WI. I am assuming this would have been in the Merrimac area. Is there any way to find out about her years of teaching at this Indian School? John & Bessie moved to Nelson, Lee, IL sometime before Mar 1913 when there first child was born there.
