    3. Scott, Have you tried doing a search on rootsweb.com for the last name and esp. on the archives? I have Sauk Co. Darms and Trueb families, originally from Switzerland, that spread out after a few years. I found several references to siblings and others of unknown relationship that had migrated to MN, and SD that way. Through that search, I even found the indexes of a couple of county histories on the internet and was able to get a copy of the articles by Inter-library loan. Although they didn't apply to my direct line, they had informtion on the family, including dates of arrival, and, hopefully, help on finding descendents of those lines that might have more information. Darms is a fairly uncommon name so I was also able to search on google.com and come up with a some items on an uncle of my grandmother's who was into mining (the articles were not on a genealogy site but on a Nevada mining site).
