    3. Hi all - As I was looking through the book "Lives Lived Here: A Walk Through the History of Sauk City," by Myrtle W. Cushing and Michael J. Goc, I read the stories of Clemens Hertner's attacks on his stepson Andrew Tarnutzer (p. 188). Andrew Tarnutzer is a distant cousin. My ggg-grandmother was Christina Tarnutzer, who was briefly in Sauk County in the 1850s where she met and married Johannes Johanni. After the marriage they moved to Brown County Minnesota. Clemens Hertner may be a relative of mine also as there were a number of settlers from Jenins in Graubünden, Switzerland, who lived in Sauk Co. These included Johannes Johanni and his Senti cousins. The Hertner family is also numerous at Jenins, including some Clemens Hertners. I have had some difficulty in spotting Clemens Hertner in any of the available public records for Sauk Co. Does anyone know more about him or this story? I would appreciate some pointers to this interesting, if unfortunate, incident. Regards, Mike Hobart Salt Lake City, UT
