    2. Michael Hobart
    3. Hi all - It really is a bad idea to start discussing real topics while leaving the "Unsubscribe" in the subject line. Mail sent to a list with unsubscribe in the subject line generally is sent by someone who has not read the instructions on how to actually unsubscribe from a mailing list. So exprienced users of mailing lists will often just trash such email messages without even reading them. I only noticed that there was a real message here by accident. 3. Still researching that 'problem ancestor' (you know, the one who must be from another planet... ;-) because you haven't found any parents yet)? The SHSW library in Madison has over 4 million genealogical items. Learn different research techniques, new sources and what's different at the SHSW library. They have one of the largest collections of North American history (including Canada). Wisconsin State Genealogical Society Fall Seminar http://www.wsgs.org October 14, 2000 - Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin Kalahari Resort Convention Center Genealogical Research on the Frontiers... Old & New $10 members, $15 non-members with advance registration by Sept. 30th. (additional $12 for Saturday Luncheon) Featured speaker will be James L. Hansen, F.A.S.G., State Historical Society of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin. Topics include Frontier Genealogy: Special Sources and Techniques for Tracing Your Pioneer Ancestor; Tribunes and Gazettes: Getting the Most From Newspaper Research; and Genealogy in the 21st Century. Mr. Hansen is a widely-renowned genealogical librarian at the SHSW Library in Madison. This library holds newspapers spanning time from 17th century to the present, all 50 US states and the Canadian provinces. The library collection includes about 40,000 compiled family histories, population schedules for all U.S. censuses, ship passenger lists and microforms of major genealogical collections from other institutions. Most items indexed in PERSI are also held by the library. http://www.shsw.wisc.edu/library/index.html Details & registration form are available at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~wsgs/seminar.htm Hopefully we will have some spectacular fall color viewing as we travel to and from the seminar. http://www.travelwisconsin.com/seasonal/colorreport.shtml Ever wonder how that color chemistry works in the leaves? http://www.scifun.chem.wisc.edu/chemweek/fallcolr/fallcolr.html

    3. Just a friendly weekly reminder of the Wisconsin Genealogy Chat Sunday night at 9:00 p.m. EST (Adjust for your time zone) We have been having a great group, so stop in and see if you can connect with someone else researching one of your lines. There have been a few questions about the chat so I will post the information here for those of you interested in stopping in and are new to chat rooms. 1- Go to http://huntsville.about.com/citiestowns/southeastus/huntsville/mpchat.htm 2- Click on "log on to chat" 3- In the Nick Name space- type the name you want to show in the chat room. Most choose something short and some put the state appreviation after the name, examples DebWI, JeanIL, RedWA, etc. You do not need a password or need to fill out anything else on this page. Once you type in your name click on OK, Connect lower left. 4- You have entered the chat room. You will type your messages in the space in lower left of screen where it says Type here. Type your message and hit enter. A couple helpful hints. To make the screen bigger and without advertisements click on the float button in the upper right hand corner. To enlarge the type - in the message space type *chat fontsize 14, this will enlarge the type font for easier reading. Hope this helps and hope to see some new names in the chat Sunday. 3. I would like to invite the members of the county mail list to the Wisconsin Genealogy Chat on Sunday nights at 9:00 p.m. EST at http://huntsville.about.com/citiestowns/southeastus/huntsville/mpchat.htm (Please note-the time is listed as EST-so you will have to adjust for your time zone.)This chat is held every Sunday night, so if you don't connect with a "lost" relative, check back on another Sunday night. Anyone is invited to join in the chat and of course the topic is Wisconsin Genealgogy. This chat is for the sole purpose of assisting each other in finding our lost ancestors in Wisconsin. Stop in and share those great WI sites you have found, family research, help each other "break" through those brick walls. By sharing information maybe we can help each other find that "cousin" we quite can't find. Hoping to see you! Please excuse me if this is a duplicate email. 1. [WISAUK] Lorenz [1801-1867] & Mary Anna Keil [1807-1872]
    2. Scott Edward Bosecker
    3. Lorenz [1801-1867] & Mary Anna Keil [1807-1872] immigrated from Germany settled in OH and had several children. They may have moved briefly to Sauk County, WI before moving to Polk County, IA. Some of their children are buried in Sauk County. They are reported to have had the following children: Johann Benjamin [Born: 11 Jul 1827] John [Born: 8 Mar 1834] John Manheim [Born: 2 Feb 1836] Lawrence [Born: 18 Jul 1838] Jacob [Born: 12 Jun 1840] Gottfried [Born: 1843] Mary [Born: 2 Feb 1847] reported to have died in Baraboo on 3 Aug 1928 and buried in Prairie Du Sac. She is reported to have married John Heiran and had a child Lorenze Heiran [Born: Sep 1879] in Prairie Du Sac. Mary may also married a man with the last name of Moog. I am particularly interested in Jacob [12 Jun 1840 - 9 Apr 1878] and his wife Elizabeth Christine (Bosacker) Keil [5 Mar 1842 - 13 Apr 1875]. I know this couple had at least a daughter, Amelia, and I am looking for other children. Jacob may have married a Rebecca and had another child after the death of Elizabeth Christine. Scott Bosecker

    2. In a message dated 8/24/2000 8:52:15 AM Pacific Daylight Time, [email protected] << Subj: [WISAUK] Kelly Brothers in Baraboo? Reply-to: <A HREF="mailto:[email protected]">[email protected]</A> Hello Sue, Sorry, I cannot help you in your research, but you mentioned SUTCLIFFEs. My husband has that line in his ancestor list. You never mentioned any dates. His SUTCLIFFE line was from England and the first one here, that we know of was: Charles Wolstenholme SUTCLIFFE b. 24 Dec 1820, Leeds, Yorkshire, Eng; d. 26 Jun 1895, Mazomanie, Dane Co, WI,. Charles m. 23 Nov 1847, Arena, Iowa Co, WI, Sarah Ann BLAKEY. Sarah was b. 27 Feb 1826, Gilderson Armsley, Yorkshire, Eng and d. 7 Jul 1895, Mazomanie, WI; dau of William BLAKEY. Charles was the son of Robert SUTCLIFFE and Henrietta WOLSTENHOLME. They had 10 children, which I checked, and cannot find the name KELLY mentioned in any of their profiles. They were mostly in Dane and Iowa Counties, WI. If you find a connection we would appreciate having it. Regards, Carol Davies Hi List, Just found out from Audrey at the historical society through an obit for my gg Grandfather, Fred Kelly, that he "was the last of the 7 Kelly brothers". Fred lived and died in Kendall, Monroe County for half his life the first half being spent in Baraboo, Sauk County. Does anyone know what the names of the other 6 "Kelly brothers" were or have any info on the parents-John and Jane (Barbara Jane)? The obit states he was survived by Step- brothers John, Arthur and Abe Sutcliffe. I've heard mention of that name during conversations with my family but nobody seemed to know the connection. It seems that John and Jane must have split and John remarried a woman named Sutcliffe (this must have been her second marriage too). I don't know her first name or anything else about her. Can anyone help?? Thanks, Sue
