I just received a death certificate for an ancestor who died in Richland Co. in 1893; place of death is listed as Lone Rock Twp. I wasn't able to locate this township on the website so I'm assuming that it was absorbed by another. Can anyone tell me where it was located? Thanks... Perhaps the place they mean is Buena Vista Township, that is where the town of Lone Rock is located. Can you share with me the last name of the deceased. I am interested because I have a relative that I can not find information on. Thanks for all of the information on Lone Rock and its location. The surname on this death certificate is Oakes; husband and wife were Joel M. and Emeline W. Does this help anyone? Linda
