After a good hiatus - Chapter 21 - Pioneer Reminiscences from the History of Crawford County is now online: http://www.rootsweb.com/~wicrawfo/chap21.htm This consists of several narratives the main one by Mr. Fonda, who for a better part of his working life was a lawman in one capacity or other. His portion is quite interesting as he speaks of trekking to deliver the mail from Green Bay to Chicago, on foot, in the winter. Included are his descriptions of both Green Bay and Chicago as they appeared in that day (1830s) and various adventures that he and his companion met along their way. All in all a good read.
