Dear Fellow Researchers: One of my most persistent "brick walls" has been my great, great grandfather, Daniel Hoskin, who lived in Richland County from about 1850 until the Spring of 1876. He was born about 1794/5 and, on his Civil War enlistment/discharge papers, claimed to have been born at Barrington, Rhode Island. I've never been able to verify this. In the 1850 and 1860 censuses his POB is listed as "New York". Prior to moving to Richland County he lived in Huron County, Ohio and before that Chenango County, New York. I would love to hear from anyone researching this family and it's related lines. Bill Hoskins

Specifically on Daniel HOSKINS, b. 1799 at Bainbridge (Chenango Co.) NY, his wife, Anna Marie TOWER, b. 1803 in Bainbridge (Chenango Co.), NY, their son Amasa HOSKINS, b. 4 Feb., 1825 at Bainbridge (Chenango Co.), NY and his wife, Jane Harkness Murdock, b. 29 July, 1825 at Turin, (Lewis Co.), NY. Jane's parents' names were John MURDOCK and Eunice MILLER. I have no birth/death dates nor places for these two individuals. Any information would be appreciated and I'll be happy to do the same.
