Scott - They ARE having problems of some type. I do not have the census sub, but in the past week everytime I go to their website at all, I get locked out of the Internet. About 4 days ago my ISP had to guide me through getting out of their service entirely, and then getting back in. Something on ANCESTRY.COM fouled up my ISP connection. I will NOT be using ancestry for a while, I cannot afford the time to fix what they do to me. I wrote to another mailing list re problem, some wrote back, specifically noting the census sub. By the way, I went into ancestry through Rootsweb, did not get fouled up, so do NOT go into Ancestry directly. Anyone else on this list have the Ancestry.com on-line census subscription? If so, are you having trouble accessing it? I haven't been able to do so for several days, and I thought it perhaps was my new computer. But it's the same on my old IMac. Or is it my ISP? I left a message on their "complaint" page, but as yet have had no response. If anyone else on the list is having a similar problem, please e-mail me privately. Scott mchomie@triwest.net

Hi, and good mornin' - Thanks for the Cramer info. It will be noted and saved. The one about George Cramer being awarded bounty money, gave me the shivers, until I realized that 'my' George T. Hi Phyl, First Phyl I want to apologize for not getting back to you much sooner regarding the name Cramer. I didn't forget ! When I get to Richland Center anymore,I don't have much time for genealogy research. My dad lives in an assisted living home and always has doctor's appts. and etc. I didn't recall the names of the Cramers you were seeking. However I have this info. These Cramers lived in the Boscobel area. Elizabeth Allison Cramer born in Bath Co. Kentucky around 1829.Died Aug. 1883 in Boscobel and funeral at Methodist Episcopal Church. She was married to Joel Cramer and moved to Boscobel around 1863. Joel worked as a wheelright at Ableiter Plow Works in Boscobel. In Nov. 1880 Grant Co. in Wi. paid George Cramer a bounty for scalps turned into the county. I am not sure what these scalps were but suspect Indian. I have seen this before where people were paid a bounty for scalps. I maybe can answer when I can get back to the Wisconsin Historical Society in Madison, Wi. and look up the article on microfilm of old newspapers. Milton Cramer died of consumption in Jan.1879. Hopefully some of this info. will be of value to you. I am still looking for a gg grandma that split from her family 140 years ago in Richland Co.Wi. Still cannot locate her back in Knox Co. Ohio. Take care and have a safe Memorial Day weekend. If someone can assist Amber, please contact her directly as she may not be a member here - thanks, Tim ------- I saw your listing of deaths for the Ricland Co area (which helped me very much with family research, thank you!) and I was wondering if you had any more info about this listing: Storms, Rachel - 1893-05-29 - D-028. A middle name or intial or husband's name would really help. I have been trying to find information on Rachel and I want to make sure this is the correct date because my family thinks it doesn't seem right, although no one knows for sure. If it is the correct Rachel, it is Rachel Molive Storms (Roth). Thanks, Amber Cndleflme@msn.com

Regarding the LEPLEY query: My wife's mother was Simon Lepley's daughter. Simon was a brother to Edgar. Would be interested in anything you have.
Would that be Ruby or Alice Lepley? I am researching the Neefe line. Simon married Emma Neefe, daughter of Charles A Neefe and Nancy See. I can speak only for myself when I say that the folks who create virii are to me just as dangerous as those folks halfway around the world as they terrorize humanity. While computer virii do not kill or maim individuals they do cause untold trouble, wasted time and money that could be used elsewhere. That said, the quote below is from the April 24, 2002 Rootsweb Review - No, RootsWeb.com is not sending you a virus or worm in an attachment -- no matter what these "forged" addresses with RootsWeb name in it say. Be sure your anti-virus software is up-to-date and that you use it. Never open any e-mail attachments unless you have confirmed with the sender that she or he did indeed send it to you for a reason. Do not assume that the attachment came from where it says -- these sophisticated worms are able to forge addresses and they are fooling lots of people. Some even claim to be "worm removal tools." Don't believe them. The Klez worm has been able to spread because of a security vulnerability in Microsoft Internet Explorer (browser) and because many people do not update their browser and download these patches. Don't risk the loss of your personal and genealogical data: Update your browser now: [2-line URL]: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/q290108/default.asp/ Most antivirus vendors, such as Symantec, McAfee and Sophos, offer Klez patches. Is your computer virus free? Find out at: http://housecall.antivirus.com/pc_housecall/ ---------------- Additionally the following sites offer FREE virus checkers and/or software: http://www.grisoft.com/html/us_index.htm or http://www.commandondemand.com/eval/index.cfm or http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/activescan.asp?language=2&Country=63 &Partner=1&Ref=EN-PR-AS-107 -------- I rarely send attachments - and do not do so without prior notes to the persons I do send attachments to. If you can pre-screen your email before downloading it, do so. Just because an email appears to be from a friend - if it shows an attachment check it out beforehand for most likely it is not from your friend but has had their address forged. The bad thing about the Klez virus is that it forges who it comes from in ALL cases so that where it actually came from is anyone's guess as the sender's email program, infected grabs an address at random from the sender's address book slaps it on the outgoing mail and sends it to whomever the sender has contact with either from their address book and/or apparently anywhere in their email. This current virus is the most devious one I've seen for lots of innocent folks are getting infected as they open mail and/or attachments they thought was from someone they know. There is even one particular sneaky mail this worm sends out that say that it is Klez removal tools, tells folks to ignore any messages that say hold on, don't run this - so that when they do ignore the safeguards in their system they too will become yet another victim of this virus. Having been zapped before by virii, and fighting it daily as part of my job, I can think of no greater common threat we face. Please be careful what you open and check your system often for virii.
