W. BIRD Held at Grand Rapids The funeral of Mrs. Nellie T. DICKSON of Grand Rapids, mother of Mrs. J. W. BIRD of this city, was held from the Congregational church at Grand Rapids this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mrs. DICKSON died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B. F. Nason, at 5:30 o'clock Tuesday evening. She had not been in good health for over a year and five weeks ago entered St. Mary's Hospital at Wausau for treatment. After three weeks spent at the hospital she returned to her home and her decline has been rapid since then. Mrs. DICKSON was the eldest child of the late Mr. and Mrs. James DICKSON who were among the pioneer settlers of Grand Rapids and was born on the west side, then called Centralia, on September 18, 1859. With the exception of a few years she had spent her entire life there. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. J. W. BIRD of Stevens Point, Mrs. B. F. NASON of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Lee PAYNE of Rhinelander and also by an only brother, Walter J. DICKSON of Rudolph. An only sister, Mrs. Cora L. DUSTIN, passed away four years ago last July. Mrs. BIRD has been in Grand Rapids this week and Dr. BIRD went to that city this morning to attend the funeral.
