This young man, who was in the 27th year of his age, was born and raised in this city. He was always a very quiet, gentlemanly young fellow, and an industrious worker. Some five years ago he took a trip to Europe for the purpose of visiting with relatives, and viewing the grave of his mother, who had died in that country some years before. On his return it became apparent that his mind was affected, and it was deemed best to send him to an asylum for treatment. The young man was accordingly sent to the Oshkosh institution, four years ago last February, but his case was a hopeless one and medical treatment could not restore his wandering senses. He was confined to his bed for some time prior to Saturday last, when he died. The remains were brought to his late home in this city Tuesday afternoon, and the funeral services of the Episcopal church held at the residence by Rev W H WATTS, after which the remains were interred in the cemetery beside those of his father.
