    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/DFC.2ACE/799.1.1 Message Board Post: So good to hear from you.I also have very little knowledge about my Dunphys from Stevens Point. To make it a little more confusing there is a possibilty that James Joseph is not the correct name.Let me explain. My Great Grandfather was John Marcus Dunphy who was born on Feb 17,1875 in Stevens Point. All of my data agrees with that date and place although there seems to be no official record of his birth with the state. His father was originally reported to be Richard and I am finding that name on most of the paperwork but my Great Uncle Joe(Johns youngest son) claims Johns father's name was James Joseph.Everyone is in agreement that the Mother was Permelia(sometimes spelled Parmelia)McGregor. The only other info I have is that John Marcus eventually ended up in Cloquet,Carlton,Minnesota where he married Susanna Amelia Williamson.Susanna died in Cloquet and is buried there.John came out to Oregon with one of his daughters(My Grandma) for two years and passed away here. His remains ! were sent back to Minnesota for burial with his wife. Uncle Joe says that Richard/James Joseph was killed on a train but have been unable to locate any confirmation on this.I ordered some newspapers Microfilm from Minnesota hoping to find info on the Dunphys in there but could not locate anything.I have been unable to verify where Permelia and James/Richard died.I will definitely keep your info in mind and be looking for a connection.
