The city directories at the library are sporadic. The oldest one is 1893, then 1896 and then 1908. Here's what I found. I put my explanations in ( ). "Directory of the City of Stevens Point, Portage County, Wis. 1893". Chicago: R.S. Radcliffe & Co., publishers, 1893. Page 101 John Stefonski, lab (laborer), res e (east) of N. Prentice Martin Stefonski, res e of N. Prentice ---------- "Portage County Directory 1896 Volume I". Published by the Post Printing Co., Stevens Point, Wis. Page 88 Stefanski George, fmr (farmer), 1211 Division n Stefanski John, emp WC (employee Wisconsin Central Railway), 1211 Division n Stefanski Martin, lab (laborer), 1101 Division n ----------- There was no listing for Stefanski in the 1908 directory so I did not look further. I then looked in "Nineteenth-Century Portage County Marriages" compiled by Dr. G.L. Miller, May 2001. Published by Brookhaven Press (www.brookhaven.com) and found on p. 80: Stefanski, Martin married Cochenska, Michalina 4 Nov 1889 Hope this helps. LuAnn
