Sandquist Lucy Ann (Stefanski) Sandquist, 79, 1508 Metro Drive, Schofield, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Comfort Care and Hospice Services Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. Lucy was born Aug. 3, 1924, in the town of Plover in Marathon County to the late Joseph and Antonine (Konkol) Stefanski. She graduated from Antigo Normal School and attended Stevens Point Teacher's School, where she received her teaching certification. She began her employment at a one-room school house, NuDell School, in the town of Plover, then moved to Wausau, where she waitressed at Palm's Supper Club. Lucy later returned to teaching at St. Mark's in Rothschild and Holy Name in Wausau. Her later life was spent as a caregiver. Survivors include her children, Ron (Kay) Sandquist, Eugene (Elizabeth Beckett) Sandquist, and Julie (Dan) Donovan, all of Wausau, and Richard (Sharon) Sandquist, Stillwater, MN.; brothers, Roy Stefanski and Walter (Dorothy) Stefanski, all of Aniwa; and grandchildren, Nick and Ryan Sandquist, Kate, Mitchell, Jonathon, Samantha and Julianna Sandquist, Sarah Donovan, Elliot, Stuart and Eric Sandquist. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ed, Clem and Eugene; and sisters, Angie, Delores and Genevieve. Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at Brainard Funeral Home, Wausau. The Rev. Vernon Dolde will officiate. Burial will be in Aniwa Union Cemetery, Aniwa.
