Kresh, 84, died Monday, May 1, 2006 at home following a lengthy illness. A memorial service will be held Friday at Boston Funeral Home, with Deacon Art Schaller officiating. Burial of his ashes will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, town of Grand Rapids. A memorial is established in Frank's name for Community Industries. Frank was born Aug. 9, 1921 in Stevens Point to the late Frank and Rose (Schelke) Kresh. He attended St. Peters Grade School and Emerson High School. Frank joined the Air Force in September of 1942 and received an Honorable Discharge in January of 1946. He served as a sergeant in New Guinea and the Southern Philippines. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater ribbon with 4 bronze stars, and the American Theater Service Ribbon. Frank married Lorraine Wood on June 8, 1944, in Stevens Point. Following military service, Frank worked at Weber Lifelike Fly / Weber Plastics until 1981. In 1950, he completed his machinist toolmaker apprenticeship and in 1966 the Advanced Industrial Hydraulic Course. In 1981, he worked for the city of Stevens Point until retirement in 1987. Frank was an active member of the Central Wisconsin Radio Amateur Club. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; one daughter, Susan of Stevens Point; two sons, Donald (Cynthia) of Wisconsin Rapids and James of Wabasha, MN.; three grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jason (fiancee Julie Farah) and Jamie Kresh; a great grandchild, Kiana; a brother, Joseph of Milwaukee; three sisters, Martha Shulfer, Helen Klismith and Irene (John) Wayerski, Stevens Point; and a sister and brother-in-law, Alberta and Laurence Glenzer of Stevens Point. Nieces and nephews also survive.
