Kropidlowski Henry J. "The Silver Fox" Kropidlowski, 80, of 1600 Sherman Ave., Whiting, died Thursday, June 16, 2005, at St. Michael's Hospital. He had been in ill health the past few years. He was born on Feb. 20, 1925, in Whiting, to the late David and Verona (Zromski) Kropidlowski. He entered the U.S. Navy on Jan. 7, 1943, in Stevens Point, and was honorably discharged Jan. 19, 1946, in Great Lakes, Ill. He received the Victory Ribbon and the Asiatic-Pacific Medal with 4 stars. Henry was married to Ruth A. Kulich on April 19, 1947, at St. Peter Catholic Church. She died on Nov. 6, 1982. He was married to Vi Baum on March 9, 1985. She died on Sept. 3, 1988. Henry also had a special friend, Carol Buckman, for 14 years who died on Aug. 27, 2004. He was employed at Consolidated Papers Whiting Division, retiring in 1980. Henry enjoyed gambling and spending time with family. Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Norbert) Besiada of Stevens Point and Ann Marie (Daniel) Duda of Junction City; seven grandchildren, Joseph, Gerald and Bruce (Lachelle) Besiada, Kimberly (Chad) Duda, and Heather, Kevin and Megan Duda; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Gerald, who died in Vietnam; three brothers; and one sister. In charge, Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home.
