Beardmore of Waupaca, but who was well known in this county, died at the home of Mrs. Arthur Harness of Neenah at 12:30 o'clock, January 19. She had been with Mrs. Harness for a couple of months. Mrs. Beardmore was born at Rushford, N.Y., Nov. 17, 1829, and was therefore in her eighty-second year. Those who are left to mourn her loss are one son, A. W. Pitcher of Plover, three grandchildren, Mrs. John Gurney of this city, H.F. Pitcher of Aurora, Neb., and Miss Lillian Pitcher of Plover. The two great grandchildren are a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Gurney and a daughter of H. F. Pitcher. Mrs. Beardmore was a sister of Dr. H. R. Palmer, who was known as the poet musician and was director of music at the Chautauqua in New York state for a number of years. Mrs. Harness, at whose home Mrs. Beardmore passed away, was formerly Miss Kittie Stoner, who at the age of seven years, was taken to the home of Mrs. Beardmore and reared by her. The funeral service at Neenah consisted of a short prayer, the body being taken to Waupaca, where the services were conducted by Rev. Webster Miller of the M. E. church, of which the deceased had been a member. Interment followed in the Waupaca cemetery. Mrs. Beardmore had usually spent a part of her winters with Mrs. Harness and her son, A.W. Pitcher, at Plover.
