Lewison, 85, of 2009 Briggs St., Stevens Point, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at his home. A memorial service will be held April 22, 2006, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Stevens Point. The Rev. Al Jakubowski will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. Shuda Funeral Chapel, Stevens Point, is assisting the family. Gordon was born May 9, 1920, in Ellingson, S.D., the son of the late Jonas and Clara (Syverson) Louison. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1943. He served as a Captain in Germany, France and England during World War II, earning the American Theatre Ribbon, the Bronze Battle Star, four Overseas Service Bars and the Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He was married to Lorraine Kluck. She survives. Gordon was a teacher and basketball coach in New Holstein, Wisconsin Dells and at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption for 37 years until his retirement in 1983. Gordon was a member of the American Legion, the Wisconsin Coaches Hall of Fame and the Wisconsin Rapids Assumption High School Coaches Hall of Fame. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine, Stevens Point; one daughter, Mari Lewison; three sons, Jeff, James and John; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Norma Johnson.
