Kropidlowski Edwin R. Kropidlowski, 79, of King passed away Friday, May 28, 2004, at WI Veterans Home MacArthur Hall. Edwin was a resident there for 13 years. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church in Amherst. The Rev. Robert Pedretti will officiate. Interment will be in WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Edwin was born in the town of Stockton on July 3, 1924, the son of the late John and Sophia (Patoka) Kropidlowski. He was in the U.S. Army from June 1944 to June 1946. He served as a corporal in World War II. He received the American Theater Service Medal, Army of Occupation Germany Medal, Good Conduct Medal and European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Medal. After the service, he was employed at Preway in WI Rapids and owned and ran his own restaurant. Edwin enjoyed fishing, gardening, being outside, being around people, bingo, bowling and going to church. Survivors include a daughter, Christine Somers, Stevens Point; two grandchildren, Jason Jones, Schofield, and Nikki Somers, Nekoosa; and two sisters, Verona Groholski, Amherst, and Laura (Hank) Sopa, Wauwatosa. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Groholski; and a brother, Harry Kropidlowski. Source PCG 4 June 2004 (p29) Edwin R. Kropidlowski Edwin R.
