Write to: Chalmer Davee Library, Area Research Center, University of Wisconsin-River Falls, 410 South Third Street, River Falls, WI 54022 or call: (715) 425-3321 and ask for an Archives Assistant who can help you find a person in an obituary in a newspaper and a death and marriage record for Frederick in the pre-1907 marriage and death records and maybe Evelyn's birth record (though it probably too early) They have all these records. You have exact dates and places so they may be able to find these records. Since you don't know the town where Frederick died they may just look in River Falls and find no obituary. You may have to ask them again to search in other newspapers. If they don't find him in the Pre-1907 death records index they won't just look through the film. Go to the nearest Family History Center and order the film on Pierce County records. He may be in the death records, but just not listed in the index. All these records have places to show the parents names. Unfortunately they didn't always fill them in. I just remembered that rootsweb.com has the Pierce County, WI Pre-1907 birth, marriage, and death index online now. You still need to send for the records as this just he index. Check unusual spellings of the name or you may miss it. I just found my ALTON spelled as OTTMAN. Sit down and write how the name sounds before looking. It's suprising what you come up with! A few weeks ago I called Chalmer Davee Library and gave them the information on my ancestors and they looked them up and sent me what they found. Very nice! Then I usually send them at least several dollars to cover postage and their effort. A death certificate from the county or state is $7. Hope this helps and good luck. Janet
