Johnson, age 76 of Spring Valley, Wisconsin died Tuesday, February 24, 1998 at the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home, Elmwood, Wisconsin. Nan was born July 17, 1921 at Jersey City, New Jersey, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Condrey) Abbott. She was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith and a long time member of Spring Lake Lutheran Church, rural Spring Valley. Nan grew up and attended school in Atlanta, Georgia. She served her country during WWII in the U.S. Army in the Womens Army Air Corp. She was a cryptographic technician.On May 20, 1950 Nan married Donald Johnson at St. Louis Park, Minnesota. They were blessed with two children; Nancy and Dwight. Nan worked at the Sears Store in Spring Valley for about 12 years. She was active as a 4-H leader; Sunday School Teacher, served as president of the Spring Lake Ladies and was active in Circle. Nan was a resident of Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home for the past 3 years. Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband Donald who died in February 1993. Survivors include her daughter Nancy Borth of Spring Valley; her son Dwight Johnson and his wife Karen of Spring Valley; 3 grandsons; Doug Borth and his wife Nina of Ellsworth, Wisconsin and Adrian and Adam Johnson of Spring Valley; one great grandson Rhett Borth; sister-in-law Julie Schleuder of Richfield, Minnesota, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation was held Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley, Funeral services were Friday, February 27, 1998 at Spring Lake Lutheran Church, Spring Valley. Rev. Keith Holste officiated the service with music provided by organist Mary Jan Hecker and vocalist Loralee Kiefer. Bearers were Don Miller, Fred Neiderhauser, Scott Wood, Chuck Hovde, Olaf Hendrickson and Jerry Larson. Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley, handled arrangements. Contributed by Joe Waddell.
