Funeral services were held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., at Bethany Lutheran Church [Rice Lake] with Rev. Allen Schoonover officiating. Interment was at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Spring Lake Cemetery in Spring Valley. Visitation was from 2 - 5 p.m. at Appleyard's Home for Funerals and for an hour prior to services at the church. Mr. Jacobson was born Jan. 20, 1933 at Spring Valley, where he attended school graduating from high school in 1949. He then attended UW-River Falls, graduating from there with a bachelor of arts degree. He received his master's degree from Colorado State University at Greeley. On May 31, 1958 he married Martha Evaska at Boyceville. Mr. Jacobson then taught music and was also in administration at the Turtle Lake High School. He and his wife have been residents of Rice Lake since 1970, where he had been instrumental instructor at the Rice Lake Middle School until the present. Mr. Jacobson was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict, a member of the Turtle Lake American Legion Post and Bethany Lutheran Church and a 31 year member of the Rice Lake Elks Lodge. He also played tuba in the university band, British Brass Band and other area bands. Surviving him are his wife, Martha of Rice Lake, and his father Henry of Elmwood.
