On March 7, 1880, he was baptized in the Ole Gaarden school house, where the services of the Spring Lake congregation were held before a church was built. On September 30,1894, he was confirmed at the Spring Lake church together with four other boys one of whom Henry O. Hanson. Following his confirmation Mi1ton work on the home farm for several years, and then took up carpentering, which he has worked at most of the time since. Most recently he has been emp1oyed by a contractor. In the city of Green Bay. Thursday, August 7, white working on top of a 10 foot scaffold he lost his balance, filling to the ground and fracturing his neck. He was rushed to a hospital but died soon after reaching there. He leaves five brothers and one sister - Joe of Elmwood; Charlie of Minneapolis; Iver of Deerwood, Minn.; Henry of Sturgeon Bly; Fred of Chicago and Marie (Mrs. Gustav Nelson) of Spring Lake. He Is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and host of more distant relatives. The-funeral was held from the home of his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Nelson and the Spring Lake Lutheran church on Monday, August 11, Rev. Berven officiating. Special singing at the church was furnished by Mrs. Louie Beck and Mrs. Henry Jacobson. Burial was made in the Spring Lake cemetery. Contributed by Joe Waddell.
