She came to America (St. Paul) in 1887 and was married to John P. Johnson of Spring Lake, WI., on July 2, 1891 After they were married they moved onto Mr. Johnson's father's farm in Spring Lake which was their home until his death in 1940. Mrs. Johnson continued to live in Spring Lake with Jeanne Erickson until 1942 when she moved to Minneapolis to live with her brother, Tom Sather. After the death of her brother she applied for admittance to Ebenezer Home and went there to live in October 1958. She died in the new Luther Home of the Ebenezer Home on February 1, 1962. She was the only surviving member of the Spring Lake Ladies Aid and was at one time a member the Ebenezer Auxiliary. She had been godmother to many children in Spring Valley. Survivors are, one brother Ole P. Sather of Issaquah, WA.; one sister, Mrs. Ellen Anderson of Seattle, WA.; two nieces Mrs Edna P. Gartz of Minneapolis and Mrs. Clara Heglund of Cokato, MN,; two nephews, Carl Peterson of Minneapolis and Peter Sather of Cokato, MN., as well as several nieces and nephews in the state of Washington. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 6, 1962, at the Spring Lake Lutheran Church with Rev. W. C. Aanestad officiating. Burial was in the Spring Lake Cemetery. Contributed by Joe Waddell.
