Hello: Wanted to run this by the list. S-K Publications is willing to scan the original censuses for Pierce County, WI and donate a copy to the USGenWeb Census Project, if ordered and when completed, which they say takes about 3 months. They do it on a request basis and it works like this. They need 24 donators for the 1900 census at a cost of $20.00 each. Is this something people researching in the county would be willing to help fund? The details can be found at http://www.skpub.com/genie/census/wi/pierce.html As the 1900/10/20 censuses are larger than what most of us have time to transcribe, I was hoping we could do it this way for those years. I will still be transcribing the 1860 and 1870 by hand and we will hopefully be finishing the 1880 census some time this year. This would be a HUGE leap forward for the Pierce County site in its efforts to help those researching their families. Thanks for your input. If there is interest, I will post to the website for others to donate as well. Debbie County Coordinator Pierce County WIGenWeb Project http://www.rootsweb.com/~wipierce/
