Wi Obituaries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Wi/PierceObits/10062 Surname: Banks, Johnson, Nelson ------------------------- Spring Valley Sun, Jan. 10, 1935 Martin Banks Martin Banks was born to Mr. and Mrs. Simon Banks Feb. 19, 1876, on the place in Spring Lake which has been the family home since they settled there. Martin was the oldest of three children, one of whom, a sister, died in 1902. Martin had exceptionally good health, never being compelled to seek medical aid until some years ago when he had some trouble with one of his eyes. On Christmas Eve, however, he suffered a stroke. Later hemorrhages aggravated his condition. He grew weaker and during the last days it was apparent that death was only a question of a short time. He died a few minutes after midnight Monday morning, Jan. 7 (1935). Funeral was held from the home and the Spring Lake Lutheran church Wednesday, Jan. 9, Rev. Berven officiating. Burial was made in the Spring Lake cemetery. Besides his sister Josie, deceased is survived by several cousins, namely the Andrew Johnson children, among whom are Mrs. Adolph Anderson of Spring Valley, Mrs. Gust Nelson and Milton Johnson of Spring Lake and Joe Johnson of Elmwood.
